Tomatin 12 Year Old is the newer bottling released in 2014. With a nice (higher) strength of 43% ABV, this lovely dram spent a finishing period of 6-9 months in Oloroso sherry butts. On the nose this is quite buttery before developing into some raisin and almond aromas. The palate is smooth and sweet with notes of oak, vanilla, stem ginger, dried orange peel and some fresh mint. In 2014, this fine expression won silver at the International Wine and Spirit Competition.
